summary: report customization on WIP lets you adjust core parameters for each report — settings apply per-report across all tickers.
what report customization does on WIP
every report on WIP has a set of core parameters that control what data it shows — the ORB duration, the IB window length, the opening candle size, the gap fill threshold, and so on. changing these lets you tailor each report to your actual trading style instead of using the platform defaults.
this matters because a trader using a 15-minute ORB and a trader using a 30-minute ORB are looking at completely different setups. WIP's customize option lets you match the report to how you actually trade.
how to access the customize settings
each report on WIP has its own report card. to customize a report, click the Customize button on that report card. a settings panel opens with the available options for that specific report.
the options you see depend on which report you're customizing. not every report has the same parameters — ORB shows duration options, IB shows window length, OCC shows candle duration, Gap Fill shows fill threshold.
what you can customize per report
WIP exposes the most commonly adjusted parameters for each report. these are a subset of the full customization options available on the individual report page — the core settings that affect how the report defines its setup conditions.
common examples:
Opening Range Breakout — set the ORB duration (e.g. 5-min, 15-min, 30-min range)
Initial Balance — set the IB window length (e.g. 30-min, 60-min, 90-min)
Opening Candle Continuation — set the opening candle duration (e.g. 15-min, 30-min, 60-min)
Gap Fill — set the fill threshold (e.g. 50% partial fill vs. full fill)
if you need the full range of filter options for a report — day-of-week filters, gap size ranges, specific subreport conditions — those are available on the individual report page rather than in WIP.
settings apply per-report across all tickers
when you change a setting for a report on WIP, it applies to that report for every ticker in your dashboard — not just the one you were looking at.
if you set Opening Range Breakout to 15-min, every ticker's ORB card will now show the 15-min range reading. if you want a different ORB duration for different instruments, you'd need to run separate WIP setups or check the full report page individually.
this is by design — WIP is built for quick cross-ticker scanning. consistent report parameters across all tickers is what makes that comparison meaningful.
saving your settings
report settings on WIP don't persist automatically when you reload the page. if you've tuned your reports to specific parameters, save your setup as a WIP template — that locks in both your report selections and their custom settings so everything restores in one click the next morning.
if you close WIP and come back without saving a template, you'll need to re-apply any custom settings you had.
see the WIP templates article for how to create and manage templates.
a note on candle timing
one thing worth knowing if you're customizing candle-based reports: the opening candle in edgeful runs from the session open, not from standard hourly candle boundaries.
for the NY session (9:30 AM ET open), a 60-minute opening candle covers 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM — not the standard 10:00 AM hourly candle close. if you're comparing edgeful's opening candle readings to an hourly chart on TradingView, keep in mind those charts typically show 9:00–10:00 AM as the "first hour" candle, which is different.
if you want your candle to capture just the first 30 minutes of the NY session, use the 30-minute candle setting — that gives you 9:30 to 10:00 AM.
common questions
can I set different ORB durations for different tickers on the same WIP? not directly — report settings apply per-report across all tickers in your WIP. if you trade ES with a 15-min ORB and NQ with a 30-min ORB, you'd need to either use the screener (which allows per-column settings) or check the individual report pages separately.
do my WIP customizations affect the data on the full report pages? no — they're independent. what you set in WIP only applies to WIP. the report page has its own settings and they don't interfere with each other.
I customized a report but the settings disappeared after I came back — what happened? WIP settings only persist if you save them as a template before leaving. if you navigate away or reload without saving, the settings revert to defaults. save a template after configuring your setup to lock everything in.
can I access all the same filters in WIP as on the report page? no — WIP shows the core setup parameters. for advanced filtering (day of week, gap size ranges, specific subreport conditions), open the full report page where the complete set of options is available.
