summary: set your default market, ticker, report, session, and lookback once, and edgeful opens on them everywhere: reports, the screener, and what's in play.
if you trade the same ticker on the same session every day, you shouldn't have to pick it every time you open a page.
that's what default settings are for. you set them once, and edgeful loads them for you.
where to find them
click your profile icon (the bird) in the top right of any page.
select manage account.
open the default settings tab.
pick your defaults, then click save defaults.
what you can set
there are 5 defaults, split into two groups.
market & ticker
default market — the market you trade most: futures, stock, forex, or crypto. it decides which tickers you see first.
default ticker — where you land when you open reports or the live pages without a ticker picked.
reports
default report — the report that loads first when you click reports in the left sidebar.
default session — the session reports use unless you change it: New York, London, Asia, or Daily (6:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET).
default lookback — how much history reports pull by default: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, YTD, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, or 5 years.
defaults are a starting point, not a lock. you can still change the ticker, session, or date range on any page, and it won't touch what you've saved here.
why it matters
most "why don't my numbers match?" questions come down to two views running on different settings. one is on 6 months, the other on 1 year. one is on NY, the other on London.
setting defaults that match how you trade means every page starts from the same place, so the numbers you compare are measuring the same thing.
a couple of things to keep in mind:
the screener and what's in play have their own session options (NY, London, Asia, plus custom futures sessions). Daily is a reports and discovery session, so it won't carry over to those pages.
what's in play has its own historical period options (3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years), so a 3-year or 5-year default only applies to report pages.
stock reports always run on regular trading hours, by design, whatever your default session is.
common questions
I changed the session on a report. did that change my default?
no. changing a setting on a page only affects that page. to change the default, go back to manage account → default settings and save again.
my defaults disappeared after I signed in.
you're probably on a second account. this usually happens when one login uses Google and the other uses email and password. see account access issues — common fixes.
can I save more than one setup?
defaults are one set. for several saved setups (a ticker, session, date range, and customizations together), use templates on the report page, the screener, or what's in play.
