summary: on a monthly plan you can pause your edgeful membership for one month instead of cancelling. you're not charged for the paused month, your settings and history are kept, and your membership picks back up on its own when the month is over. here's how to pause, what switches off while you're paused, and what to do first if you run algos.
how to pause
click your profile icon in the top right corner of any page and select manage account
select membership in the navigation on the left
on your plan card, click pause membership
review the dates shown and confirm
once it's scheduled, your plan card reads plan will be paused on [date]. billing resumes on [date]. and a notice across the top of edgeful shows when the pause starts and when you'll have access again.
if you don't see pause membership, your membership isn't eligible right now. see who can pause below.
you may also be offered a pause if you go to cancel.
when the pause starts
a pause doesn't start right away. it's scheduled for the end of the billing period you've already paid for, so you keep full access until then. the pause then runs for one calendar month, starting on the day your membership would otherwise have renewed.
changed your mind before it starts? click undo pause on your plan card (or in the notice at the top of the page). your billing stays exactly as it was.
while a pause is scheduled you can't switch plans. undo the pause first if you want to change plans.
billing during a pause
you're not charged for the paused month
your renewal date moves back by one month
the period you've already paid for isn't prorated, credited or refunded
what switches off while you're paused
while the pause is running you can only get to your account and billing pages. everything else is off:
reports, what's in play, the screener, discovery and edgeful AI
algo automation, alerts and automated strategies. they're turned off when the pause begins and stay off until you turn them back on yourself. that includes any exits, stops or risk logic they would have run
API access
edgeful's TradingView indicators
subscriber community channels
your account data, saved settings and history are kept for when you come back. some outside connections, like a broker login, might need reconnecting afterwards.
if you run algos, read this before you pause
pausing does not close open positions or cancel pending orders at your broker. once the pause begins, your algo's exits and stops are off too, so anything left open is unmanaged.
before your access ends, close or manage any open positions and cancel any working orders at your broker
when you come back, your algos stay off until you turn them back on. check your settings and alerts before you do
see how to pause or stop an algo without deleting your strategy for stopping algos cleanly.
coming back
your membership restarts on its own when the month is up. you're charged for a new billing period on the same plan at its regular price. legacy pricing carries over, but coupons and temporary discounts don't.
want back in early? you can resume from manage account → membership before the month is over. a new billing period starts when you resume.
once you're back, a few things may need you to switch them on again: turn your algos and alerts back on, reconnect your broker if it asks, and re-submit your TradingView username if your indicator access hasn't come back. access on TradingView can take a little while to restore.
who can pause
monthly plans only. annual memberships can't be paused
your membership needs to be active, with no failed payment outstanding
one pause at a time. after a pause, you need to pay for a full billing period before you can pause again
complimentary memberships can't be paused
can I cancel while paused?
before the pause starts: cancelling replaces the pause. you keep access to the end of your paid period and aren't charged again
during the pause: your membership ends straight away, with no further charges and no refund
