summary: edgeful offers 3 subscription plans — essential for research basics, pro for the full research and API stack, all access for everything plus automated algo trading. choose based on your trading goals and where you are in your process.
algos are all access only. the $299/mo all access plan isn't on top of the lower plans — it's a separate, all-inclusive tier. all access includes everything in essential and pro, plus the automation suite (ORB, IB, gap fill, engulfing algos), the algo optimizer, the algo analyzer, and broker integrations. you don't pay for multiple tiers at once.
every plan includes API access. rate limits are uniform across tiers (30 requests / 60s sustained + 5 requests / 5s burst). what changes between tiers is which reports, tickers, and historical lookback are exposed through the API. high-level breakdown in the API access by plan section below.

quick answers to common billing questions
is there a free trial on edgeful?
no. edgeful doesn't offer a free trial on any plan. all 3 plans are available to start at any time, and you can cancel before your next billing date if it's not the right fit. more free content to explore before subscribing is in the does edgeful offer a free trial? section below.
what's the difference between essential, pro, and all access?
essential ($49/mo or $39/mo annual) is the research platform — 150+ reports, WIP dashboard, screener, edgeful AI, TradingView and NinjaTrader indicators, Discord access, plus starter API access (3 reports, 4 test tickers, 6mo lookback). pro ($99/mo or $79/mo annual) keeps everything in essential and opens the API up to all reports, all tickers, 1 year of lookback, and live data (WIP + screener endpoints). all access ($299/mo or $239/mo annual) adds the full automation suite on top: ORB, IB, gap fill, and engulfing algos, automated order placement through supported brokers, the algo analyzer, and the algo optimizer — plus 8 years of historical API lookback with per-day detail. full breakdown in the plan comparison table above or the what's in each plan section below.
how much does it cost to upgrade between plans?
price differences on monthly billing:
essential → pro: +$50/mo ($99 – $49)
essential → all access: +$250/mo ($299 – $49)
pro → all access: +$200/mo ($299 – $99)
on annual billing the deltas are $40/mo, $200/mo, and $160/mo respectively. you can change plans at any time from manage account → membership.
can I get a refund?
no. edgeful does not offer refunds on completed subscription charges, per our terms of service. billing errors (duplicate charge, charge after cancel, charge for a plan you didn't subscribe to) are a separate matter and are always traced and fixed — reach out through the chat widget in edgeful with your receipt or statement screenshot. see cancelling your edgeful subscription, refunds, and billing for the full walkthrough.
how do I cancel my edgeful subscription?
cancel from manage account → membership → cancel now. cancelling stops future renewals — you keep access through the end of your current billing period. no lock-in, no cancellation fee. details in the cancelling or downgrading your subscription section below.
what happens if my payment fails?
edgeful retries the charge automatically over the next few days and you keep access during that retry window. if retries don't go through, access pauses until you update your card in manage account → payment details. full walkthrough in the if your payment fails section below.
is the algo optimizer included on the essential or pro plan?
no. the algo optimizer is an all access feature only. essential and pro members don't have access to the optimizer — to use it, upgrade to all access from manage account → membership.
do I need a separate API subscription?
no. every edgeful plan includes API access at no extra cost — the tier you're on determines what the API exposes. essential gives you a starter setup (3 reports, 4 test tickers, 6mo lookback) so you can try it. pro and all access unlock the full reports catalog and every ticker. all 3 plans share the same rate limits: 30 requests / 60s sustained + 5 requests / 5s burst. full tier breakdown is in the API access by plan section below or in the edgeful API — overview + walkthrough.
essential plan — $49/mo (or $39/mo billed annually)
the essential plan gives you access to edgeful's full research platform. 150+ data-backed trading reports across futures, stocks, ETFs, forex, and crypto — price behaviour statistics, market bias analysis, session ranges, and historical patterns across major markets.
you get the what's in play (WIP) dashboard for daily session prep, the screener to scan for setups across multiple assets, and edgeful AI — a deep research tool reading 16 core reports. the essential plan also includes the TradingView indicator library and NinjaTrader indicator library so you can plot levels and visualize setups directly on your charts.
essential also includes starter API access — 3 reports (Opening Stats, Green & Red Days by Weekday, Previous Day's Range), 4 test tickers (RTY, AAPL, ETH/USDT, GBP/CAD), and 6 months of lookback. enough to confirm the API works and prototype against it, not enough for production use on real tickers.
best for traders who want detailed market research before entering trades, and a basic taste of the API. you analyze reports manually and make your own trading decisions — no algorithm automation.
pro plan — $99/mo (or $79/mo billed annually)
the pro plan includes everything in essential, plus the full API. this is the tier most people land on if they're using the edgeful API in production or building their own dashboards, scanners, or AI workflows on top of edgeful data.
on the API side, pro unlocks the full reports catalog, all tickers (futures, stocks, forex, crypto), 1 year of historical lookback, and live data — what's in play and screener endpoints are both exposed. response shape is summary-level (same as essential), just with a broader catalog and longer lookback.
best for traders or developers who want to drop edgeful data into Claude or ChatGPT for analysis, build custom dashboards or daily prep tools, send themselves stats-driven digests, or run automations that need market stats as input. if you mostly use the UI and don't touch the API, you probably don't need pro yet.
all access plan — $299/mo (or $239/mo billed annually)
the all access plan includes everything in essential and pro, plus the full automation suite: ORB, IB, gap fill, and engulfing algos with automated order placement through your connected broker. supported brokers for automation are Tradovate, NinjaTrader, and ProjectX.
you also get the algo optimizer for tuning your algo parameters against historical data, and the algo analyzer — upload your TradingView backtest data and get optimization data for your settings. on the API side, all access extends pro with 8 years of historical lookback (soon to be 9) and per-day, row-level detail in responses — so you can drill into the underlying days for precise backtests and event-driven analyses.
this plan is for traders ready to deploy algorithms, or who want both deep API data and automated execution in one tier.
what's in each plan
essential: 150+ reports, WIP dashboard, screener, edgeful AI (3 million tokens/month), TradingView indicators, NinjaTrader indicators, Discord community access, starter API access (3 reports, 4 test tickers, 6mo lookback).
pro: everything in essential + full API access (all reports, all tickers, 1 year lookback, live data endpoints).
all access: everything in pro + 4 core algorithms (ORB, IB, gap fill, engulfing), automated order placement, broker integration (Tradovate, NinjaTrader, ProjectX), algo optimizer, algo analyzer, and extended API access (8 years lookback, per-day detail).
API access by plan
every plan includes API access at no extra cost. what changes between tiers is which reports, tickers, and lookback are exposed — plus whether the live (WIP + screener) endpoints are turned on and whether per-day detail is included in responses. rate limits are uniform across all 3 tiers: 30 requests / 60 seconds sustained, plus a 5 requests / 5 seconds burst allowance.
API feature | essential | pro | all access |
reports | 3 select reports | all reports | all reports |
tickers | RTY, AAPL, ETH/USDT, GBP/CAD | all tickers | all tickers |

what's in play (live) | not included | included | included |

data depth | summary only | summary only | per-day / row-level detail |
rate limit (sustained) | 30 req / 60s | 30 req / 60s | 30 req / 60s |

which plan is right for you
start with essential if you're new to edgeful, prefer manual trading with better market data, or just want to try the API at a starter level before committing.
step up to pro when you want the API in production — full reports catalog, every ticker, 1 year of lookback, live endpoints — but you're not running algos.
go to all access when you're ready to automate, want to use edgeful's built-in algo strategies, or need the deepest API tier (8 years of lookback and per-day detail) for backtests and event-driven analyses.
what else do you need?
this is where most confusion comes up — so here's what the full setup actually looks like.
TradingView (required for algos)
the algos run as strategies inside TradingView. you'll need at least a TradingView Premium plan to access the deep backtesting feature in the strategy tester — that's how you optimize your algo settings.
you'll also need a CME real-time data package — by default, TradingView shows CME futures data with a ~10 minute delay. without real-time data, your alerts fire late and your entries are off.
TradingView isn't required just to use the essential or pro plan's reports, indicators, and API. but if you want to run and automate the algos, a paid TradingView subscription is part of the setup.
TradingView premium discount
TradingView offers a $15 discount on premium plans — but it's only available for brand-new accounts. if you're signing up for TradingView for the first time, use edgeful's referral link to get it:
the $15 gets applied automatically during checkout when you sign up through that link. if you already have a TradingView account, this won't apply — it's strictly a first-time signup offer.
a broker account (required for automation)
the algos place trades through a connected broker. you'll need an active account with Tradovate, NinjaTrader, or ProjectX to connect automation.
your broker account needs to stay connected and funded. if the connection drops or credentials expire, algos pause automatically.
if you're using a prop firm account, check their terms and conditions first to confirm automated algo trading is permitted.
a demo account (recommended)
before going live with real capital, we strongly recommend testing on a demo or paper trading account first. all 3 supported brokers offer demo accounts — use them to validate execution behavior, confirm your settings, and build confidence before scaling to live.
TradingView isn't required for essential or pro
essential and pro both include TradingView indicator access — but you can use the reports, WIP dashboard, screener, edgeful AI, and the API directly on edgeful.com without TradingView. the indicators enhance your charts, but they're not required to use the platform.
how billing works
you're charged immediately when you sign up — either the monthly or annual rate depending on which billing cycle you choose. your subscription renews automatically on your billing date each month (or year).
edgeful does not offer refunds on completed subscription charges, per our terms of service. if you spot a billing error — a duplicate charge, a charge after cancellation, or a charge for a plan you didn't subscribe to — reach out to support via the chat widget in edgeful and the team will trace it and fix it.
if your payment fails
when a payment fails — expired card, insufficient funds, your bank blocking the charge — edgeful will retry the payment automatically over the next few days. you'll still have access during that retry window.
if the retries don't go through, your access gets paused until the payment is resolved.
how to fix it yourself
1. click your profile icon in the top right corner of edgeful.
2. select manage account.
3. click the payment details tab.
4. update your card on file with a valid payment method.
once the new card is saved, the system will attempt the charge again. if it goes through, your access resumes immediately — no need to re-subscribe or set anything up again.
common reasons a payment fails
expired card. this is the most common one. if the card on file has passed its expiration date, every renewal attempt will fail. update it in payment details and you're good.
insufficient funds. the charge was declined because the account didn't have enough at the time. once the funds are available, update the card (even if it's the same card) to trigger a retry.
bank or issuer blocked it. some banks flag recurring subscription charges — especially international ones — as suspicious. if this happens, call your bank and authorize the charge, then update your card in edgeful to retry.
what a failed payment affects
a failed payment doesn't just pause your access — it also blocks plan changes. if you try to downgrade or cancel while a payment is outstanding, the membership page will prompt you to update your card first instead of showing those options.
if you're in this situation and want to downgrade without resolving the payment, reach out to support through the chat widget. the team can handle plan changes manually.
still stuck?
if you've updated your card and the payment still isn't going through — or if something on the billing page doesn't look right — reach out to support through the chat widget in the bottom right of any edgeful page. include your email address and a quick description of what you're seeing, and the team will sort it out.
annual billing
the annual plan is 20% cheaper than month-to-month. the annual discount is available on essential, pro, and all access. you can switch to annual billing at any time from your account settings.
discounts and promo codes
edgeful doesn't run sales, promotional discounts, or coupon codes. the only discount available is the annual plan — which saves you 20% compared to monthly billing.
the one exception is TradingView — they offer a $15 discount on premium plans for brand-new TradingView accounts. that's a TradingView promotion, not an edgeful discount. details and the referral link are in the TradingView premium discount section above.
cancelling or downgrading your subscription
you can cancel anytime from manage account → membership → cancel now. cancelling stops future renewals — you keep access through the end of your current billing period. there's no lock-in or cancellation fee.
if you're on the all access or pro plan and want to step down to a lower tier instead of cancelling entirely, there's a dedicated walkthrough for that:
if you subscribed at an early-adopter or promotional rate, cancelling means that rate won't be available again if you re-subscribe later.
does edgeful offer a free trial?
no. edgeful doesn't offer a free trial on any plan. all 3 plans (essential, pro, and all access) are available to start at any time, and you can cancel before your next billing date if it's not the right fit.
if you want to get a feel for what edgeful offers before you pay, there's plenty of free content available: YouTube walkthroughs at youtube.com/@edgeful, articles on the blog, free courses like the ultimate reversal setup course and the futures trading course, daily live sessions streamed on YouTube every market day, and the stay sharp newsletter at edgeful.com/newsletter.
