there are two ways to open edgeful AI, and they're a little different.

the side panel — on every page. click ask edgeful AI in the top-right corner of any page (reports, the screener, what's in play, discovery — everywhere) and a chat panel slides out. it's built for quick questions without leaving the page you're on. the side panel is chat only — it doesn't include the Analyze Reports flow.

the full edgeful AI screen. for everything else — Analyze Reports, saved runs, and the data tables — open the dedicated edgeful AI screen from the left sidebar, at the same level as reports, WIP, and the screener. you can also jump straight there from the side panel by clicking open in edgeful AI at the top.

no setup required either way. there's nothing to configure before your first use — open it and you're in.

when you open the full edgeful AI screen, you'll see a suggested prompts panel — a set of example questions to get you oriented on what the AI can help with. these are a good starting point if you're new to it.

below the suggested prompts is the chat input. type your question and hit enter.

to start a fresh conversation, click the New Chat button. this clears the current conversation and opens a blank session with the suggested prompts ready again.

use this when you want to shift topics — for example, finishing a research session on NQ and starting fresh with a question about GC. keeping conversations focused on one topic tends to produce better results than mixing multiple questions into the same thread.

edgeful AI saves every chat. your history lives in the conversation sidebar on the left of the full edgeful AI screen, alongside new chat, search chats, your saved custom reports, usage details, and settings.

the sidebar collapses. click the toggle next to the edgeful AI title to fold it away and give the chat the full width of the screen, and click it again to pin it back open.

when it's collapsed you don't have to reopen it to find something. hover the toggle and the sidebar slides out over the page, so you can scan your history and click straight into a conversation. move the cursor away and it tucks itself back. your current chat sits underneath the whole time and doesn't move, which is the point: you can check what you called an earlier session without losing your place in this one.

once you've built up a long history, reach for search chats instead of scrolling the list.

edgeful AI is available on every plan. no upgrade required to use it.

edgeful AI comes with 3 million tokens per month. tokens are consumed each time you ask the AI a question or run an Analyze Reports flow — every query, every follow-up. 3M covers a lot of normal research use; most members don't come close to the cap.

your token count resets on your subscription renewal date — not at the start of the calendar month. if your renewal is on the 21st, tokens refresh sometime on the 21st.

your remaining token count is in usage details in the conversation sidebar. keep an eye on it if you're running a lot of Analyze Reports flows back-to-back, since each flow consumes more tokens than a single chat message.
