summary: edgeful AI remembers useful context about how you trade across conversations, and adapts how it responds to you. set your preferences once — your markets and sessions, and how you like answers — and the assistant matches them from then on. you stay in control and can edit them any time.
what changed
previously, every edgeful AI chat started from a blank slate — anything you told it in one conversation was gone in the next. now the AI carries a lightweight memory across chats, so the things you'd otherwise repeat every time — the tickers you trade, the sessions you care about, how you like answers — can stick, and the assistant adapts its responses to match.
this is separate from a single chat's context. within one conversation the AI still sees that thread's history and any reports or files you've attached; memory is the part that persists between conversations.
setting your preferences
open preferences in the edgeful AI left nav. there are two ways to set them up:
let edgeful interview you — a short, guided Q&A that walks you through your setup. it starts with sensible default markets and sessions, so it's quick to get through.
write it yourself — skip the interview and type your preferences directly, if you already know how you want the assistant to work.
either way, edgeful AI applies your preferences to every response from then on — including the tone, depth, and style it answers in — and you can come back and change them any time.
what it remembers
preferences are meant for durable context about how you trade and how you want the AI to respond — for example:
the tickers, markets, and sessions you usually trade
your default lookback or timeframe
the tone, depth, and style you like answers in — short and to the point, or detailed with the reasoning shown
it is not a window into your account. edgeful AI still has no visibility into your broker, positions, or trade history — remembering that you trade NQ is not the same as knowing your NQ trades. see what edgeful AI can and can't answer.
viewing and editing your preferences
you're in control of what the AI keeps. open preferences in the edgeful AI left nav to see everything it's holding and change it — update an answer, add a preference, or remove anything you don't want it holding on to. changes take effect on your next message.
a good habit: if the AI ever answers with an assumption you've outgrown — a ticker you no longer trade, a format you've changed your mind on — open preferences and update it rather than correcting it in every new chat.
attached reports carry their settings
related improvement: when a report is attached to a chat (and the side panel attaches the one on your screen automatically), the AI also picks up that report's settings — the ticker, session, and lookback it's set to — so its answer matches exactly what you're looking at, without you re-stating them.
